Asbestos use in the United States
Thursday, February 26th, 2009Despite the danger to exposure, asbestos is still being used in this country and, in fact, is not banned.
The EPA banned the use of asbestos in most products in 1989, but their regulation was overturned in 1991 when they decided to reinstate those uses established prior to 1989.
The most common asbestos exposure occurs at construction sites, and the most exposure happens in demolition and renovation projects. Construction workers assigned to the removal of asbestos are most exposed.
