Mesothelioma is an aggressive, fairly rare but usually fatal cancer. Exposure to asbestos at the workplace or secondhand, like by washing asbestos-laden clothes, is the usual way a person contracts mesothelioma. It can take 15 to 40 years before symptoms appear and is extremely hard to diagnose.
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with mesothelioma, it is probably due to asbestos exposure at some point in the past. Treating mesothelioma — and achieving a decent quality of life — can be very expensive. Uncovering where that exposure occurred is critical to developing a mesothelioma lawsuit, possibly the only way for victims to recover some financial compensation.
