Ban asbestos now!
The River Wild video
One of every 125 men over age 50 will die from an asbestos-related illness. In fact, government researchers say nearly 30 people die every day from diseases like asbestosis and mesothelioma, diseases caused by asbestos exposure.
Yet, it’s used is many everyday products from children’s toys to brake liners.
In other words, despite the fact that there is no safe level of exposure, despite the fact that asbestos is a known carcinogen, despite the fact that even a brief exposure to asbestos can result in a debilitating illness 30 or 40 years later in life, it is not banned in the United States.
Congress is considering legislation — finally — that will do just that.
Please, go to www.banasbestos.us and sign the petition to urge Congress to ban this toxic substance and prevent the deaths of thousands more people.
