Millions Awarded to Mesothelioma Victim in New Jersey

Mesothelioma can affect people from all walks of life. On February 26th, a New Jersey court awarded $30.3 million to the family of a high-ranking advertising executive who died at age 50 of mesothelioma. The victim was first exposed to asbestos during childhood through his father and brother when they brought home the fibers on their clothing from the General Motors warehouse where they worked. Later, the victim himself worked summers at the GM plant. He, his father, and his brother would wear the same work clothes for several days in a row, which compounded the exposure.            If you have been exposed to asbestos, it is important to tell your doctor. All too often, mesothelioma goes misdiagnosed because a doctor is unaware of a patient’s asbestos exposure. Even if you yourself were not involved in the daily manufacturing or construction industries, you could still be at risk. If you or a loved one is diagnosed with mesothelioma, contact a mesothelioma attorney at Cappolino Dodd Krebs LLP immediately at 1-888-MESO-FIRM (1-888-637-6347).
