WARNING: Asbestos in Everyday Products!
Asbestos is in things that one would least expect. Today people have come to realize that there is asbestos in certain factories, types of insulation, certain joint compound products, etc. These are not the only places that asbestos is found. It is obvious that our children are not even safe. As recent as December 2007 there was asbestos found in children’s toys, and many household products that are not listed on the EPA website. The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) tested many products to see if asbestos was present. They found that asbestos was present in the following:
CSI Fingerprint Investigation Kit
Six colors of clay in Art Skills’ Clay Bucket
Three varieties of Ja-Ru Toy Clay
DAP 33 window glazing (purchased at Lowe’s and Home Depot) DAP Crack Shot spackling paste (purchased at Lowe’s and Home Depot)
Gardner Leak Stopper Roof Patch (purchased at Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Wal-Mart)
Scotch Duct Tape (purchased at Wal-Mart)
This just goes to show that you must be careful what you choose for your children and for yourself.
