Doctors Claiming To Be Pediatricians Are Not Always Board Certified In Pediatrics

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

Be an informed consumer.  Ask your doctor questions about his/her medical school, residency, as well as the number of medical facilities he/she has privileges at, and where those hospitals are located.

A study of pediatrician records recently found that up to 17% of physicians practicing pediatrics have never been certified by the pediatrics board.  Some of those claiming to be pediatricians have not even completed a medical residency in pediatrics.  The study was released in June by the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital’s Health Evaluation and Research Unit compared eight states’ lists of licensed doctors designating themselves as pediatricians to the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP’s) list of board certified pediatricians.

Big Industry Pays Experts To Say Chrysotile Asbestos Does Not Cause Mesothelioma. Too Bad That It Does!!!

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

A favorite movie quote of mine, from the movie Elf, comes to mind after visiting a chrysotile website and reading their expensive propaganda on how very safe and harmless chrysotile asbestos is, “…you sit on a throne of lies.”

Big industry and their hired experts should put their money where their mouth is, and sit in a room (with their families and grandchildren) with chrysotile asbestos blowing around in the room, because according to their experts, “chrysotile fibers do not accumulate in the lungs after inhalation.  It is thus quite useless to panic in sight of asbestos chrysotile or products containing this fibre.”

The truth is asbestos kills.  Asbestos exposure causes asbestos-related disease which includes, but is not limited to, cancer, mesothelioma, and asbestosis.  There is no safe exposure.

The OSHA regs do not make any distinctions for the different asbestos types or fibers, asbestos is asbestos.

Please support The Ban Asbestos In America Act 2007.   Asbestos has not been banned, but it needs to be!  Tons of asbestos is still coming into America, and it’s going somewhere, therefore, someone is still being exposed…
