Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is caused by the inhalation of asbestos fibers, and those who are diagnosed with mesothelioma often worked with the deadly mineral, which is widely used as an insulation and fireproofing material.  The disease has a latency period which means that disease tends to occur in the victim about thirty (30) years after the victim’s exposure, although the latency period can vary from 10 to 50 years.

Actor Steve McQueen died from Mesothelioma in 1980, and Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Warren Zevon died from Mesothelioma in 2003.

Many Mesothelioma deaths are never diagnosed correctly, with the victim succumbing to pneumonia-like symptoms and no autopsy being performed.
