MESOTHELIOMA

MESOTHELIOMA

MESOTHELIOMA is a rare form of cancer involving the lining around the lungs caused, in most cases, by exposure to asbestos.  Most with malignant mesothelioma have worked on jobs where they have breathed asbestos.  Others have been exposed in a household environment.

HOW MUCH EXPOSURE DOES IT TAKE TO GET MESOTHELIOMA?

Exposure of as little as a month or two can result in Mesothelioma 30 or 40 years later due to the long latency period of asbestos disease.

Early Symptoms of Mesothelioma are generally non-specific, and may lead to a delay in diagnosis.  Please keep in mind that these symptoms may be caused by Mesothelioma or by other conditions, you should consult a medical doctor.  Only a doctor can make a diagnosis.
